Large core banking consolidation programs
Multi-year program (forecast 5 years) responsible for the business harmonisation and IT landscape consolidation across 4 different banking institutions of the same financial group (Czech Republic, France, Italy and Spain). The business case is expected to deliver considerable synergies through a global product offering complemented by local extensions. In this program, I have been responsible for the core banking component ensuring continuous alignment with the target architecture while deploying four different transitional states in each country.
Core banking implementation projects
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to participate and lead some of the most challenging core banking implementation projects in the largest financial institutions of the world. From Amsterdam to Moscow, from Warsaw to Milan, from green fields to large conversions or migrations, the opportunities have always been two-fold; the challenges and the difficulties encountered have only been matched by the reward and amazing feeling of successfully deploying of a new core banking system in production.
Outsourced application management engagements
For a period of 5 years, I contributed to the leadership of a large outsourced application management engagement, with the responsibitliy of creating a repeatable process framework. This program started with a complex transition project that transferred the application management of 5 different core banking systems to an outsourced support model. Upon successful transition, the next challenge was to maintain and grow this new model based on distributed development and 24x7 support teams with strong SLA's in place and very tight auditing control. Five years later, with a history of success, this program became the blueprint for a new and repeatable type of engagement that was subsequently deployed in other customers around the world.
Consulting expertise moments
As time passes and my specialisation in some areas of work deepens, I have been able to broaden the portfolio of services I can offer to financial institutions: from training services in core banking development, or program management skills, to ad-hoc work packages of development in specific languages. And most recently, I have been able to start the service of data analysis and neural network development in order to add machine learning to specific areas of the business. The key differentiating factor is to understand the client needs and tailor a custom service that delivers high performance.
